Man caught with drugs on day release from jail (From The Northern Echo): "CONVICTED drug dealer was caught with cocaine and crack when he was on dayrelease from an open jail.
Asim Hussain, 33, who was nearing the end of an 11-year sentence, travelled by train to West Yorkshire with friend Anthony Briddick to collect packages while he was allowed home from Kirklevington Prison, Yarm, near Stockton.
Days later, police raided two houses in Middlesbrough and found almost £14,000 worth of Class A drugs the pair were planning to pass on to other dealers.
Hussain recruited 22-year-old Briddick to do most of his dirty work because he was unable to fully look after the business from behind bars."
